Zoo Kingdom
Zoo Kingdom was developed by Blue Fang who produced the famous Zoo Tycoon series of games and is one of a growing number of games offered on Facebook.
These pages are designed to support Zoo Kingdom players and like the game itself will always be in a state of development.
John Sherriff's Zoo Spin Guide
The zoo spin is a chance to get extra animals, buildings, biomes, decor and flora for nothing. It is available to all those at level 4 or beyond and was introduced to encourage you to visit every day. (As if we needed that)
How it works
There are three controls, the spin lever, a power up lever and an area bottom left, which allows you to buy extra powerups for Blue Certificates (BCs)
If you choose to spin then all the available power will be used including any you have bought with BCs.
If you choose to Power Up then the spin lever will not work until after midnight; your local time.
If you are impatient then you can buy extra power but be warned - it will cost you 45 BCs to get to the maximum. That's because the real aim is to encourage you to play every day.
There are three spinners. These are:
- Rarity - which offers you coins (meaning things you can buy), Stars - stuff only available from the spinner, BCs - Blue Certificate items, Limited Edition Coins - where you get items no longer available, Limited Edition Certificates - where you get BC items no longer available. You have a one in five chance of each
- The second spin wheel is the category of gift you will get, either animal, plant, scenery, building or exhibit. Again there's a one in five chance.
- The third wheel is the actual reward and it's content will depend on the other two wheels and the power level you have saved up.
It is possible, but unlikely that even a level 1 spin could get you a star item such as a sabre tooth tiger. You can increase the odds of a better reward by storing up more power.
Watch your wall! You can get free power-ups from your friends from:
- anyone who publishes a level 15 spin
- anyone who you help build a breeding center
- anyone who sucessfully breeds an animal

Problems
This is still a new feature and there are a few glitches. The developers will iron these out just as soon as they are able. At the moment they are concentrating on other things which have been requested such as moving animals, storage, inventory and new levels and animals.
I've noticed the following faults:
- You get to level 10 and don't get a star item - This isn't actually a fault. The top level is level 15! Once the bars are full in the power meter the star area will start filling up.
- Same animal/biome/building/decor item given - It's unlikely to happen but through pure chance it does happen. Just keep the unwanted item for now. It may come in handy later.
- The spin not appearing - This should happen the first time you log on after midnight in your local time zone. If it doesn't appear you can open it manually. If you don't do that it shouldn't matter as the program will assume you have done a powerup provided you play the game in the next 24 hours.
- Spin powerups not recorded - Sometimes Facebook doesn't pass on the information to the Blue Fang server. This is something beyond the developer's control. The best advice I can give you on that is to play Zoo Kingdom long enough after a zoo spin or powerup to get either an animal death or a popup window for an item to adopt. That's pretty conclusive evidence that you did play Zoo Kingdom on that day recorded on your wall.
- Powerups disappearing - Did you click the spin lever and use them? Have you not played in the last 24 hours? Both will reset the spin to level 1. If that's not the case then post a message on the Discussion board about it. The developers have a record of what powerups and spins were done which they can check and are very understanding. Please don't sit and fume if things don't go to plan. Tell them!
- Powerups purchased with Blue Certificates not appearing. - This is very rare but has happened. Again contact the developers who will fix it. If you buy any BCs and they don't appear there is a Gameforge 'support' link for this problem at the top right of the game.
- You can't get back online through no fault of your own e.g. Illness, computer malfunction, Internet down and lose all your stored power. - It does happen and it's awful luck. Maybe there should be a phased reduction in power rather than a total loss. Unfortunately that's not up to me but try asking the developers about it.
- You are on level 15 waiting to spin. You see a power-up on the wall and click it. You are told that your spin has been powered up (level 16?). When you spin, you find you are now on level 2 instead of level 3. (You get a power up when you post the announcement of your spin). - The only solution here is NOT to accept power-ups when you are on level 15.
- You get a power-up, don't see a 'sorry all the power has been used' massage but nothing changes and you are still on the same power level. - Double click the zoo spin icon and the nuber will change. After you have done this you must refresh your page before you can open the zoo spin.
- You spin but all the wheels go blank - This happens if you have lost your connection to Facebook. You'll need to log on again and try again.
- It's after midnight but you can't do a spin or power-up and you are on the same level as yesterday - Cheat! You can't do two spins within 24 hours no matter how many times you reset your time zone (although it is possible to salvage a just missed spin that way so that you don't go back to level 1).
Above all please remember that this is something for nothing, that it's new and the developers do need time to get it running perfectly.
