About us

Welcome

Hail and warmest greetings to each and everyone. Thank you for taking the time to visit us here at the new virtual home of Dreamwolves Alaskan Malamutes

I am Sharr and I live in the West Midlands with my soul mate and best friend of 23 yrs Jay with our 3 kids (albeit big kids now ).

We are proudly loved and currently owned by our 3 Alaskan malamutes who are an extension of our family unit and are very much loved and valued family members. I have the privilege to be their guardian and care giver.

As our time in the breed continues to grow, so does our pack, our love, our passion and our immense respect for what can only be described as a truly awesome and amazing creature.

This website is dedicated to the ups and downs, the good and the bad, the ins and outs, the fun and the facts of a life spent living, loving and owning Alaskan Malamutes. I say malamutes because one is never enough, and if you're not careful, you find yourself on the slippery road of trading the car for a 4x4 or van, and buying a caravan so you can take the dogs on holiday to remote scenic places. The next thing you know you will be looking for a bigger house with a bigger garden or a bit more land for the dogs. If like Jay and I, you'll most likely find a little shack in need of full restoration in the middle of nowhere with a couple of acres. Be warned Malamutes are addictive

We dedicate our spare time to having fun with our dogs. Jay runs and cycles with the dogs on a regular basis and is hoping to learn more on working the dogs in harness, as Jay is very much a white knuckle sporty kind of guy. We also train all our dogs in obedience and all our 'mals' are training at varying levels of the Kennel Club good citizen scheme. Mala and Storm, (our husky), have just started agility classes; Chinook and Laska are also attend ring craft classes (so when we finally get a few spare weekends we can try our hand in the ring with them).

The dogs love to cycle and jog with Jay but the exercise they love most is swimming; it is their utmost favourite activity all. My mals are avid water babies; they also love to roll in the longest grass and usually come home carrying most of the undergrowth from the woods in their coats. If they can find a spot of mud to thrash about in... Well that’s a bonus. They can play a mean game of football too - J .

We hope you enjoy our new website and hope you pop back often as it will be updated with pix and information on a regular basis. We plan to eventually produce a large and informative website dedicated to our beloved Alaskan malamutes and to providing helpful advice and useful information for all malamute owners whether potentia, new or existing. As we strive to educate ourselves in all things malamute, we hope in return, to help educate those who seek to know more and understand life spent living loving and owning the Alaskan malamute.

Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions queries or comments. We are always available to help and advise if and when possible. We can help you decide if the malamute is the right dog for you.
