The last few years
have seen a vast increase in the number of businesses or
organizations which have websites. Soon, a business without
a website will be as rare as a business without a phone.
Already, on television, we see predictions that those without
a website will soon be those out of business.
The first step in any
web design process is to establish exactly what you require.
(If you're familiar with websites, the design process
and already know what you require, then follow this
link ).
For businesses, we
can develop a website which can provide information or sell
your products or services, locally or internationally. The
World Wide Web is the platform from which your business
can promote itself to new markets.
For nonprofit organisations,
Internet is the means by which you can promote your objectives
and offer help or advice, while providing information.
For the individual,
we can create a personal website on which you can publish
to the world, your interests or beliefs, and through which
you may make contact with like minded others.
We use a variety of
tools and techniques. Pages can contain movement, colour,
sound and be interactive. They can calculate results and
pass information from page to page. Graphics can add interest
and inform. Pages can collect information and then generate
a new, custom page. Databases can be used to store and process
information. Complex forms can be made available for printing
and posting. Credit Card processing can be set up through
use of a secure server and sophisticated encryption can
be used to pass personal information confidentially.
For most websites,
we suggest at least the following pages, (although the names
may be altered):
- Home - a
page which acts as an index, an introduction and which
may contain any special offers or announcements.
- About Us
- a page detailing you, your business or organisation.
- Services
- pages explaining what you offer.
- Portfolio
- pages with links and brief descriptions of your product
or clientele.
- Contact Us
- contact information detailing telephone numbers, street
address, e-mail, fax and other ways you can be contacted.
Before we begin development
of your website, we will endeavour to establish what your
expectations are. YOU are the expert in your own
business and we will work closely with you to present your
site in the most attractive, informative and efficient manner
possible.
If, at this point,
you are still unsure of your needs, fill out and submit
our 'design
project form' and we will contact you as soon as possible
with a proposal.
