You're looking at the Battersea Bridge across the River Thames. This bridge was built in 1886 to a design by Sir Joseph Bazalgette. The five arched bridge replaced a previous bridge, which proved dangerous to river traffic, many boads having been wrecked by collision with that bridge's piers. It was this bridge which was responsible for the development of Chelsea from a small village to a busy suburb.
