Nouns and names use a basic word, to which is added an ending. E.g.
Robertus nominative form a masculine name or noun, ending in us Robert is the subject, as in "Robert was buried". Roberti genitive form a masculine name or noun, ending in i something belonging to Robert, as in, "Child of Robert". Roberto ablative form a masculine name or noun, ending in o from or by Robert, as in "Declaration by Robert". Maria nominative form a feminine name or noun, ending in a Mary is the subject, as in "Mary was buried". Mariae genitive form a feminine name or noun, ending in ae something belonging to Mary, as in, "Child of Mary". Maria ablative form a feminine name or noun, ending in a from or by Mary, as in "Affidavit from Mary". Just to complicate matters, some names or nouns are irregular, in that they don't have the proper endings.
