Hexham Market, Northumerland, England
Hexham
market is held every Tuesday - there are actually two markets, this one,
held in the market square, and a second market for animals, on the road out
of Hexham.
The castle like building you see is in fact England's oldest purpose built jail, it's now used as a museum but, in days past, it held border reiviers - raiders who stole stock and produce.
If you visit Hexham, be sure to tour the Abbey - perhaps sit in St. Winfred's chair and take a look around the antique shops.
If you're there on a Friday, you can buy a copy of the local newspaper - The Hexham Courant.
The midi you are listening to,'Seven Days', is by Sting.
