The Wish

Good grief, someone with a browser that doesn't understand Java!
The river runs, the mirror ripples, swirling shapes appear
Are they what I long to see or echoes filled with fear
I feel the shadowed depths purge my inner soul
Dare I ask the wish, will my dreams unfold?

I ask the wish, I say the words, the spell becomes complete
I long to know the answer, but still I fear defeat
The water swirls, the shape unfolds, the ripples take their form
Arising from the shadowed depths, the secret becomes known
